Recognition on your device, backup in private storage only you can access
Recognizing food in photos happens entirely on the device. For photos confirmed into food records, only two resized copies made on your device are backed up, per the notice at sign-up, to private storage accessible only to you; you can turn this off at any time in Settings → Photo backup. The original files stay on your device and are never uploaded. Backed-up photos are deleted along with their record or your account. For details, see the Privacy Policy.
